This year at the FACTE Conference FAAE is offering teachers the chance to test for the FNGLA Industry Certification. This is the CAPE certification for any Agricultural program with a Horticulture focus. For those who choose to participate, their pre-conference (Aug 2nd & 3rd) will include an overview and quick guide to preparing for the FNGLA test. Then they will actual take the test on the Wednesday August 4. If you have educators who would benefit from this certification, please encourage them to register for the preconference and test. Those who plan on participating in the certification portion of the conference need to complete the following things in advance:

• Sign up for the Certification portion by registering for the pre-conference and FNGLA test. The Pre-conference is $50 and the Test is $85. Both of these can be made out to FACTE and combined into 1 check or purchase requisition (It can include the regular registration fee also).
• Purchase a FNGLA Manual $75. The application is attached for ordering a manual. By participating in the conference you can receive the manual for membership price, just indicate that you are attending FACTE.
• Once you receive the manual you should start studying the plants for your area, as this is the portion of the test that takes the most memorization. Choose the plants for your area (north, central or south) and work on the plant id.
• Also you will need a laptop for the conference. We will have a few extra there but it would be useful if you had access to your own during the conference.
