DESCRIPTION:
The Charlotte County Aerospace and Engineering Institute is partnership between Charlotte Public Schools and four Postsecondary Institutions including: Charlotte Technical Center, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Edison State College and the University of Central Florida. This Program of Study, (POS) provides students with multiple, comprehensive and integrated articulated course offerings between the four institutions.
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University provides students with individual articulation agreements that “lock in” student graduation requirements for Embry Riddle based on the date at which the student officially enters the Embry Riddle program in high school. Students can enroll in this POS beginning in the 9th grade and can earn up to 60 college credits prior to high school graduation.
This POS has multiple career pathways that are articulate with participating postsecondary institutions or dual enrollment such as Airline Dispatch, Air Traffic Control, Avionics, Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Safety, Ground School, Private pilot License logging “Real” Flight Time Through a Flight Simulator, Aerospace and Civil Engineering, Core Engineering Courses including Calculus, Physics, and other General Education Courses.
